What Social Publishing Does

Hostmatic powers social publishing in the Social Post Creator:

• Multi-platform publishing — Publish to Instagram, Facebook, X, Pinterest, and LinkedIn
• Account management — Connect several accounts, up to your plan's limit (shared across all your properties)
• Cross-posting — Send one post to several accounts at once. It's written for one platform, so check it fits the others.
• Publish limits — Plan-based monthly publish allowances (overage posts use credits)

How to Connect

Connecting social accounts requires a paid plan — Free sees "Upgrade Required" on the card and "Connecting social accounts requires a paid plan." inside. Only property admins and owners can connect accounts.

1. Go to Integrations in the sidebar
2. Click Connect next to Social Accounts — the dialog is titled "Social Accounts"
3. Pick a platform from the grid and click Add Account. Each platform opens its own authorization window, one platform per authorization.
4. Sign in and approve the access each network asks for

Inside the manager you can also use Refresh accounts and disconnect any account individually.

Using Social Publishing

Once connected, visit Tools → Social Post Creator to:

1. Pick a listing (or paste a URL)
2. Choose a Post Type, an optional feature to highlight, and one Platform
3. Click Generate Post to create an AI-written post with hashtags and a character count
4. Review the preview
5. Click Publish to Social Media, select the accounts, then click Publish to [n] account(s)

Instagram and Pinterest posts need an image. Published posts count toward your monthly publish limit. Once you exceed your plan's limit, additional posts use credits (1 credit per post). If a post is rejected, the credit is refunded.

Plan Notes

• Social Accounts connection (this page) is required for publishing features in the Social Post Creator
• Social Post generation is available on all plans (Free: 12/mo, Weekend host: 60/mo, Pro host: 240/mo)
• Social publishing requires Weekend host or higher (Weekend host: 30/mo, Pro host: 120/mo)
• Connected accounts by plan: Free 0, Weekend host 2, Pro host 5 — counted across all your properties, and 0 during the free trial
• Additional publishing beyond your limit costs 1 credit per post

Hit the account cap and you'll see "Account limit reached — Your plan allows up to [n] accounts. Disconnect one or upgrade to add more."

Ad Performance (Separate)

Hostmatic tracks organic social performance via Google Analytics. To track paid social ads, use the separate Ad Accounts connector on the Integrations page (Pro host only; Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or X; up to 2 accounts).

Troubleshooting

Connection failed

• Ensure you're signing in with an account that has admin/publisher permissions
• Some accounts require two-factor authentication approval
• Try disconnecting and reconnecting

Publish failed

• Check the character limit — Hostmatic warns "This post is too long for [platform] once the link and hashtags are added."
• Verify your caption doesn't violate platform community guidelines
• Ensure the account still has active publishing permissions

Account disconnected on its own

• Accounts with no published posts for 90 days are disconnected automatically to free the seat. Reconnect from Integrations → Social Accounts.

Missing platforms

• Not all platforms are available in all regions. Check your country's social media terms.
• Some account types (Creator vs Business) have different publishing restrictions.
