Insights Overview

A map of every Insights page in Hostmatic, what each one answers, and where to start.

4 min readUpdated May 19, 2026

Each page focuses on one slice of that question. This guide is a map — start here, then click into the page that matches what you're trying to learn this week.

How to Access

  1. In the sidebar, click Insights to expand the menu
  2. Pick the page that matches your question (see the chart below)

The Insights menu has three groups:

  • Overview — the high-level summary view
  • Core Analytics — Attribution, Funnel Analysis, Link Performance (all plans)
  • Advanced Analytics — Direct vs OTA, Airbnb Bookings, OTA Performance, Social Performance, Seasonal Patterns, Campaigns, plus AI Insights

Where to Start

First-time host using Hostmatic for the first week or two:

  1. Attribution — Get the big picture of where bookings come from.
  2. Airbnb Bookings — Sanity-check your listing-level performance.
  3. Funnel Analysis — See whether your bottleneck is traffic, click-through, or conversion.

Existing host running paid acquisition or content:

  1. Attribution — Verify that your campaigns are showing up in booking data, not just click data.
  2. Social Performance + Campaigns — Tie social engagement and UTM campaigns back to actual bookings.
  3. AI Insights — Let Hostmatic flag anything unusual (a sudden traffic drop, a channel quietly outperforming, a seasonal shift).

Property manager with multiple listings:

  1. Direct vs OTA — How much of your business is direct vs commission-bearing?
  2. OTA Performance (Pro) — Channel-mix optimization across Booking.com, Expedia, Vrbo.
  3. Seasonal Patterns — Price and minimum-stay decisions for the next quarter.

Date Ranges and Plan Caps

Every Insights page has a date-range filter in the top-right (7 / 14 / 30 / 90 days, with longer ranges on paid plans):

Plan Max history
Free 90 days
Weekend Host 180 days
Pro Host 365 days

Period-over-period comparison (current vs prior period side-by-side) requires Pro Host.

Prerequisites for Reliable Data

Insights are only as good as the data flowing in. For full coverage:

  • GA4 connected (Integrations) — required for Attribution, Funnel Analysis, Link Performance
  • Airbnb iCal connected — required for Airbnb Bookings, Direct vs OTA, and any booking-attributed data
  • Meta connected (Weekend+ for Social Performance, Pro for ads analytics) — required for Social Performance
  • Guesty connected (Pro only) — required for revenue attribution
  • At least one Hostmatic short link with a campaign name — required for Campaigns and Link Performance to be meaningful

Hostmatic still works without these — pages will simply show partial data and an inline note telling you what's missing.

Common Questions

  • My Attribution page is empty. — GA4 isn't connected, or there's no booking data flowing. Check Integrations and confirm at least one iCal feed is syncing.
  • Why doesn't [page] show data older than X days? — Plan-capped. Free is 90, Weekend 180, Pro 365. Upgrade to extend.
  • Where did Guest Journeys go? — That page was retired in May 2026. The Attribution page is now the canonical attribution view, and Funnel Analysis covers the journey step-by-step.
